Earlier this week, the Biden administration approved drilling plans for the Willow project in the Arctic, a mistake that will profit fossil fuel giant ConocoPhillips and poses a giant threat to the Arctic and the Inupiat, the people who have lived and stewarded Arctic Alaska for millennia. We are disappointed by this news, and doubling down on our commitments to climate action. Will you join us?

In April, to commemorate Earth Month, consider joining a Climate Change Crew. Details of the program are below:

Who: Anyone! You can join if you’re climate curious, a climate expert, or something in between.

What: A space to learn about environmental issues and find a community to support you to take climate action.

Where: Chicago and DC-based crews will meet in person 3 times and online 3 times. The virtual crew will meet online for all 6 meetings. The online meetings will take place on Zoom.

Dates: Tuesdays in April (4/4, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25) and May 23 and June 20, 2023

Time: 4pm-5:15pm PT / 5pm-6:15pm MT / 6pm-7:15pm CT / 7pm-8:15pm ET

Topics Discussed: Each week we will discuss a different topic. These include: the role of the individual in the systemic challenge, the role of money and banking, environmental justice, environmental anxiety, local action, and climate communications.

Cost: $60 (a value of $10 per session) until March 21. After this date, cost is $75. There are need-based scholarships available - email us at info@ecologicprograms.org if cost is a concern.

We are excited to announce that Andrew Behar, CEO of As You Sow, will be a guest speaker during one of this year’s sessions where we will explore the role of money, ESG investments, 401k, and climate friendly banking options.
